Broadway Christian Church was established on August 19, 1956, at 1321 Broadway Avenue, Mattoon, Illinois. The first minister was Howard McFadden, who served the congregation from 1956 to 1967. Other senior ministers through the years have been: David Pieratt (1967-1969), Bill Stark (1969-2000), Marvin Flowers (2000-07), and Greg Sexton (2007- present).
The congregation moved to its current location at 1205 South Ninth Street in 1976. Since that time three additions have been made to the building: a new worship area and foyer were built in 1981, additional class rooms and a banquet room were added in 1999, and we remodeled the worship area and added on office, foyer and nursery space in 2004.
God has continued to bless Broadway Christian Church through the years as we have continued to grow and make an impact in the world.
